Join us in supporting Port Angeles Education Foundation (PAEF) by making purchases or donating directly during our “Community First Saturday” event on Saturday September 8th, 2018. PAEF representatives will be present at Hartnagel Building Supply and Angeles Millwork, sharing information about the foundation and its grants, assistance and scholarships. 5% of all retail sales collected that Saturday and 100% of donations taken in the store, will be split with this incredible organization AND Five Acre School!
Funds raised at the stores will allow PAEF to award an additional School & Teacher grant this fall. These grants are designed to encourage creative and innovative projects in the classroom and beyond, providing a variety of experiences which may broaden interest for future educational, career, and leisure choices.
We chose Port Angeles Education Foundation as a Community First Saturday recipient, because we see the amazing track record the foundation has in providing necessary and varied services to our community’s children. All the programs funded are essential in the creation of a well-rounded environment for the success of generations to come. We must as a community, continue to take an active role in supporting the growing needs of our local educational offerings.
The mission statement of PAEF is to foster support for students and programs by promoting creativity, innovation and excellence in partnership with Port Angeles public schools. PAEF is a 501(c)3 tax deductible organization formed in 1991, managed by an 18-member volunteer board of directors supported by one minimal staff position.
PAEF’s vision is that all students have full access, free of barriers, to reach their full potential. Every child deserves equal opportunities to succeed in school and in life. No child should be restricted by inability to acquire basic needs which allow active participation in classes and activities.
In addition to grants and student needs assistance, PAEF awards scholarships and recognizes academic and volunteer excellence in education.
Mark it down on your calendar, set a reminder on your phone and pledge to come on down to Angeles Millwork or Hartnagel Building Supply, Saturday September 8th, and shop with a purpose. Community non-profits help to keep our communities whole, profitable and productive. But it can’t be done without everyone’s help.
Your participation matters!
