Sequim High School Students Tour Hartnagels

Students in the career readiness class at Sequim High School recently toured Hartnagel Building Supply to learn about our stores, local employment opportunities, economic issues and to discuss future career planning.

Led by teacher Andrea Houser, the group of students arrived at Hartangel Building Supply welcomed by CEO, Kelly Fox and Advertising Coordinator, Josh Bergesen. The students received a gift of company branded hats and carpenter pencils making them honorary team members for the visit.

Touring the store, each job title within the business was described in detail by actual employees.  Some employees also gave descriptions of their work history from high school up until the present day.   The students were attentive while listening to employee’s life experiences. The examples gave them real world knowledge to draw on as they look to make their own decisions about future schooling and employment. Many asked great questions about our employee ownership culture, the trades we help support and how the stores work with the community.

We are very proud to have been asked by Ms. Houser to host her students at our store and look forward to participating again with a new group of students next semester.

It is our belief that with community engagement coming from a variety of approaches, Angeles Millwork and Hartnagels can be an integral part in creating an Olympic Peninsula that continues to inspire, grow and assist our economy and its citizens.
