Material Donations Help Local Girl Scout With Sign Installations

Our stores specialize in a wide variety of building materials for all sorts of projects. So, we were the logical shopping destination when local Girl Scout and High School Senior Ally Pelayo needed some advice and a cost estimate for her Girl Scout Gold Award project.

The Gold Award is the highest achievement in Girl Scouting and recognized girls who demonstrated extraordinary leadership through projects that have a sustainable impact in their communities. Ally’s project involved the design, construction, and installation of signs about the health benefits of time in nature. With the help of the North Olympic Land Trust, Ally installed her signs inside the Lyre River Conservation Area – about 20 miles west of Port Angeles.

When Ally reached out to us concerning available grants or discounts for community projects, we were glad to lend a hand and donate the full material costs of premium materials that will keep her signs standing for years to come.

Thanks, Ally, for partnering with us and including us as part of your community support!
