As a fourth generation roofer, Emerald Roofing owner, Travis Quent laughs and says he “didn’t really have much of a choice,” and that he has been roofing “as long as he’s been able to climb ladders.”

After working for large roofing companies in Seattle and L.A. doing fun, “high-tech” roofing, Travis returned to Port Angeles in 1996 to raise his son and start his own business. Part of his business plan is to support his local community, in fact his phone book ads boast that “All our materials are bought locally, to keep OUR economy strong!”

Emerald Roofing handles a wide variety of roofing projects, such as metal, composite and shake, but Travis enjoys doing torch-down jobs the most and says he “has gotten very good at them.” His motto is “do it right, or don’t do it!”

In addition to residential roofing, major commercial projects around town have included Blockbuster, Olympic Skating Center, Olympic Printers and the Sequim Village Center.

98% of his business comes from customer referrals and word of mouth. Customers appreciate his honesty, and straight forward information. He works hard to “keep this community dry.”
